The Self And The Law Of Attraction
Let’s take some common phrases, and turn that around so that the laws of attraction can actually begin attracting the goal or objective that is desired. One phrase may be, “I need lots of money.” This is in all actuality a negative thought because the underlying belief is that “I don’t have enough money to live on.” When the mind and sub-conscious hears that on a daily basis, what it attracts is more problems that gulps what little bit of money is left over. In order to turn this in to an objective, a goal that is reachable is to change the phrase to “I will find a great job that pays significantly more money;” this gives the person’s subconscious a goal to work for – to find the job that is great and pays more money.
Another phrase may be, “I have to buy bigger clothes because I can’t lose the weight,” tells the subconscious to continue the self destructive actions that causes them to lose the weight they need to lose. Turn the phrase around to “I am buying smaller sizes because I eat healthy foods and am achieving my perfect weight,” which allows the body to desire the healthier foods and more appropriate quantities as well as controlling the hunger – in addition to the thrill of buying the smaller sizes because the goal has been achieved. When a person looks and feels healthy, and keeps the self talk on the positive side, and uses the laws of attraction with positive reinforcement, their luck just seems to take a turn for the better.
There have been many books about self help such as the books written on the Law of Attraction which includes one by Napoleon Hill called Think and Grow Rich which identifies why it’s so important to control one’s thoughts in order to become successful. The energy that is put into to these positive, successful thoughts attracts that success and can actually change people’s lives. This has been an extremely popular and successful book for more than 70 years. When the individual changes their thought processes and focuses on visualizing achieving their goals, it makes it much easier for the laws of attraction to be a magnet for everything possible to achieve those goals.
Creating a positive self image, practicing optimistic thoughts and then visualizing achieving the desired success ensures the laws of attraction are effective.

The Self And The Law Of Attraction
Do you find yourself looking at the mountain of paper on your desk every morning and automatically think “Uggghhh, I’ll sort this out later”, or “I’ll do it after lunch” or “how did these get here”? What about the time you have to use brute force to close the back closet because it’s full of knick-knacks and old things? Same thing? Well, as much as you can push the deadline for organizing day after day, it will come to a point where you have to deal with it. At work, it might be due to a document that you need to find urgently or you’re toast. At home, it might be as crucial as having fire hazards in your garage or as basic as not having space to store anything anymore.
Face it. Procrastination does not do anybody any good – you’re just delaying the inevitable and will only lead to more things to do. You really need to discipline yourself to avoid mountains of clutter from rising. So how do you start?
First, admit that you have a problem. Wishing alone will not make the clutter go away on its own. Yes it’s true that not filing paperwork or sorting out old things to a later date is freeing you from work now. But when it becomes a mini-mountain of files and clutter, chances are the ten-minute sorting time you needed in the first place became ten times more. The more it grows, the more reluctant you will be to start doing it.
Next, take a deep breath, get up and do the work. Do it even if you have to start the first few minutes gritting your teeth while working. The important thing is to for you to start. Slowly, you’ll see that your mountain will become a hill; then a small mound; until at last, it’s all gone! Not only will you get additional space, you will really feel satisfied.
Now that you know the hard work doing that entails, keep it in mind. Remember that you didn’t have to do it in the first place if you’ve just taken time out to file that memo or throw out that broken toy, etc. So, the next time you’re tempted to pile things again, just remember how long it took for you to clear up a mountain of work away!
Procrastination is destructive. It can cost you the promotion you’ve always wanted in your job. It can make your family get tired of you and your excuses. And above all, it can make you the person whom nobody would like to work with. Don’t let these things happen to you. Address your tendency to procrastinate right this minute!

According to Abraham Maslow, the ultimate life-goal of a person is to self actualize. By this he means that we are born with a drive to fulfill our highest potentials.
He has created a Hierarchy of Needs. Needs, which he believes a person desires to fulfill in order to reach the acme of self actualization.
On the lowest level are the physical needs. These are our needs for food, sex, etc. Next we have our safety needs: our need to be secure and free from harm. Then we have the love and belongingness needs, which is self-explanatory. Next is esteem needs: our need to be respected and admired. Then there are the cognitive needs and the aesthetic needs. The cognitive needs cover our desire for knowledge, while the aesthetic needs deal with our innate desire to experience and appreciate beauty.
At the topmost tier is the level self actualization needs, the ultimate goal of human beings. Most people get stuck on the lower levels. They don’t and can’t get far, because either they have yet to exhaust the pleasure in the level that they are in, or they haven’t found contentment and satisfaction on that level that they want more and more to the point that they don’t want to leave.
For Maslow, only handfuls ever really actualize. Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, and Eleanor Roosevelt are the only few people whom he names who have self-actualized. For him, these people have these in common, among other traits:
- Independence from others’ opinion and influence
- Spontaneity
- Acceptance of themselves
- An objective perception of reality
- They are task-centered
- They know how to appreciate the mundane
- They have deep and healthy interpersonal relationships
- They have compassion for humanity
- They do not have a rude or mean sense of humor.
With traits like those, it is easy to see how they have reached the acme in Maslow’s standards. Most people may have become financially successful, but they may have severe personality flaws like being exploitative or that they like poking fun at others’ shortcomings.
Self-actualization does not mean being perfect. Even Abe Lincoln was plagued with depression, according to history. But the key thing to these people is that they have achieved much and remained humble. They have inspired many, but think that they are but normal people.
Self actualization is a process of increasingly becoming honest with yourself and with people around you, learning to be content where you are and living life to the fullest without resorting to drugs or hedonism. Life is meant to be lived with vigor and inspiration. Aim to self-actualize: the “getting there” part is quite fun too.
